❓ Where are Rigsby Wold Holiday Cottages located?
On our working family farm in the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB, just 2 miles west of Alford.
❓ How do I get there?
Rigsby village is reached via the A16 from Alford; the cottages are 150 m off the main street—detailed directions available on our site.
❓ What makes the Lincolnshire Wolds special?
It’s a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with rolling hills, footpaths, wildlife and charming market towns.
❓ Is there parking?
Yes—off‑road parking for up to two cars per cottage.

The Cottages

❓ How many cottages do you have and what are they called?
We have three: Owl Cottage, Pheasant Cottage and The Stables (a converted barn).
❓ How many people can each cottage sleep?
Owl: sleeps up to 4 (1 double + 1 twin).
Pheasant: sleeps 2–4 (1 double + 1 twin).
The Stables: sleeps up to 6 (double + twin + twin/double).
❓ Are the cottages dog friendly?
Absolutely—bring your well‑behaved dog(s) along.
❓ What amenities are included?
Free Wi‑Fi internet access, central heating, modern kitchens, comfortable furnishings—and each has its own essentials (linen, towels, etc.).

Booking & Rates

❓ What are your rates?
7‑night stays start from £350—exact pricing shown in the booking calendar by date.
❓ Can I book outside peak season?
Yes—we take bookings year‑round, including Christmas & New Year.
❓ Is there a minimum stay?
Our system defaults to 7‑night bookings, but please contact us if you need a shorter stay.

On‑Site Features

❓ Can I bring my bike?
Yes—secure storage is provided for up to 4 bikes per cottage. Cycle the Wolds or rent an electric bike locally.
❓ Are there footpaths from the farm?
Plenty—multiple public rights of way cross our fields and the nearby Rigsby Wood reserve.
❓ Is there wildlife on the farm?
Abundant! Barn owls, pheasants, brown hares in March, bluebells and more spring flora in the woods.
❓ Where can I see local wildlife?
Rigsby Wood for birdsong and wildflowers; Gibraltar Point for coastal birds; Donna Nook seal reserve nearby.

Booking Policies & Practicalities

❓ What time is check‑in and check‑out?
Check‑in is from 4 PM; check‑out by 10 AM. Early check‑in or late check‑out may be arranged when available—just ask!
❓ Is there a security deposit?
A refundable security deposit of £100 applies when booked via our booking agents. It’s returned within 7 days if no damage is reported.
❓ Can I pay by debit/credit card?
Yes—we accept all major cards via our secure online payment portal when booked via our booking agents. BACS transfers are welcomed when booking direct with us.
❓ Do you allow barbecues?
Only at The Stables where we provide a firepit.
❓ Are candles allowed indoors?
For safety, open flames (candles, tealights) are not permitted inside.

Technology & Connectivity

❓ How good is the Wi‑Fi?
Generally our internet supports video calls, file uploads/downloads but can be patchy at times due to reasons beyond our control.
❓ Is there mobile phone signal in the cottages?
Most providers have good 5G coverage, but indoors can vary.
❓ Are there laundry facilities?
Each cottage has a washing machine.
❓ Can I dry clothes outside?
Yes—there’s a washing drying line available at all cottages.

Housekeeping & Services

❓ Are linen and towels provided?
Yes—all beds are made up and towels are in each cottage on arrival.
❓ When are towels changed?
For stays longer than 7 nights, towels are refreshed weekly. Let us know if you need an earlier change.
❓ Is there central heating?
Yes—central heating in all cottages, thermostatically controlled for comfort.
❓ Do you provide a hairdryer?
Yes—in each cottage.
❓ Can I request extra cleaning mid‑stay?
Mid‑stay cleans can be arranged for a small fee—just let us know in advance.

❓ What’s in Alford?
Manor House tea rooms, arts & crafts markets, local shops, cafés and also various events each year.
❓ How far is the coast?
Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea are about 30 minutes by car.
❓ What day trips do you recommend?
Lincoln cathedral & castle, Horncastle antiques, Louth market town and Woodhall Spa.
❓ Are there farm shops or delis nearby?
Several local farm shops are within 10 miles—ask us for our favourites!

Special Requirements & Accessibility

❓ Is The Stables accessible?
Yes—it’s all on one level and fitted with handrails in the main bathroom; please let us know any specific requirements.
❓ Can you provide cots, high chairs or child-proofing?
Cots and high chairs are free of charge.
❓ Can I celebrate special occasions or use decorations?
Small decorations are fine—please use removable hooks to avoid damage.
❓ Do you accommodate special dietary or allergy needs?
Let us know your requirements—we can recommend local suppliers and accommodations.

Policies & Terms

❓ Are the cottages non-smoking?
Yes—strictly non-smoking indoors. Please smoke outside and dispose of butts responsibly.
❓ Are fireworks or Chinese lanterns etc permitted?
No such pyrotechnics are allowed as they can disturb livestock and neighbours. Please enjoy public displays instead.
❓ Can I book multiple cottages for large groups?
Yes—book all three cottages together for family reunions or friends traveling as a group.
