Welcome to the inaugural issue of our Rigsby Wold Holiday Cottages' newsletter. We have created this to inform you of what's been happening here, our special offers and forthcoming events of interest.

New Cottage

In October 2013 work started on fully renovating our second and adjoining Victorian Farm Cottage, which we have named 'Owl' and the original cottage 'Pheasant'. Our first guests in Owl were welcomed in July 2014 and since then we have received many good reviews. We have also installed WiFi in Owl, while by default Pheasant remains without WiFi for those that want an excuse to get away from it all. In Pheasant we continue to accept Pets while Owl is Pet-free. Having doubled in size it also means we can now accommodate families and friends that want to holiday together.

Lincoln: a must-see tourist destination for 2015

Lincoln, less than an hour's drive from us, has been named as the only UK tourist spot in the Telegraph newspaper's international list of 20 destinations for 2015. Here's what our local paper has to say about it:

Website Refreshed

Our son, Paul, has given our website a fresh look, added more information and made the site mobile-friendly. The website address has also changed to http://rigsbywoldholidaycottages.uk/ to reflect we now have two cottages.

Our Farm

Some of the most consistent guest comments made in our Visitor Books refer to the 'welcoming hosts' and it is now just as likely you will meet Bill as myself, as we've contracted a local farming family to help us.

Snowdrops

If like Paul you are a self confessed Glanthophile (lover of snow drops), come and walk around St James Church, behind our cottages, during the end of January/beginning of February. The first sign of them has already appeared and last year they were in their prime on 5th February as this picture shows.

History's most romantic holiday

At the time of writing, we currently have availability in Owl & Pheasant for Valentine's weekend 13-15th February 2015 if you'd like to treat your loved one to some escapism in our rural idyll.

The Railway Tavern, Aby - a friendly popular local pub just 3 miles walk/drive from us - have a special 3 course menu and disco to dance the night away and round of your evening with all your favourite songs (bookings only by telephoning direct on 01507 480676).
